About Us
Fiola Sports Therapy: Advanced Athlete Care
Over the past 10 years Fiola Sports Chiropractic has evolved and continues to expand upon the services and resources we provide to our athletes. This evolution has led to a new and more fitting name. We have re-branded as Fiola Sports Therapy to better fit and describe what our office has to offer its athletes.
As we’ve grown, Dr. Fiola has added staff and realized that no matter the job title or license (Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer or Massage Therapist), the best people to build the business around has been well educated practitioners, armed with excellent manual therapy skills, strong diagnostic abilities and a true passion for helping people reach their goals.
At Fiola Sports Therapy we will always make it a point to try to go above and beyond the status quo. Patients receive one-on-one attention for 30 or 60 min sessions. We work to improve tissue quality on the treatment table and movement quality in the gym. We educate the patient/athlete on how to best help themselves outside the clinic with at-home exercises and alterations to daily routines/poor movement habits.
We are proud to say that our clinic’s success and growth has been propelled by our own patients sharing their experience with other members of their communities. There is no better stamp of approval than knowing that those we help, want to share that experience with others they care about. We look forward to continuing to serve, help, and impress Metrowest athletes for years to come!
Dr. Andrew Fiola, Co-Owner / D.C., A.R.T.
Dr. Andrew Fiola is a native of western Massachusetts. He attended Minnechaug Regional H.S. where he participated in football, ice hockey and track and field. Upon graduation, Dr. Fiola went on to attend Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. There, he played four years of football, being named Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and team captain as a senior.
Injuries suffered while playing these sports and, more specifically, while training for these sports, sparked Dr. Fiola’s interest in the field of sports medicine. It was an early encounter with a sports chiropractor in high school that steered him towards the unconventional path that he chose.
Graduating with a major in Biology from Wesleyan University, Dr. Fiola relocated to Dallas, TX to attend Parker University, College of Chiropractic. It was there that he continued to search for the sports chiropractic niche that he had envisioned, finding it with a clinical mentorship under Dr. Troy Van Biezen at ChiroSport Specialists of Dallas. Dr. Van Biezen is the sports therapist/chiropractor for a number of the most prominent golfers on the PGA tour, as well as the team chiropractor for the Dallas Stars.
It was in that setting, Dr. Fiola found what he was looking for and was able to create the template for what Fiola Sports Therapy is today. He saw that the best way to fully serve the athlete’s needs was to have chiropractic, soft tissue work/manual therapy and strength training/corrective exercise all under one roof. When a team of professionals are all pushing in the same direction with the same philosophies, working to find a root cause to pair with the symptom pattern they see they can use all tools at their disposal to fix both issues and provide the patient with a one stop shop, holistic approach.
In order to enhance his skill set, Dr. Fiola attended courses outside of school to become full body and nerve entrapment certified in Active Release Techniques, as well as receiving certifications from TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) and SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment). Graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Fiola was asked to join the staff working under Dr. Van Biezen, where he worked for 2 more years on top of the 8 month clinical rotation. In order to be closer to family, Dr. Fiola moved back to Massachusetts and opened Fiola Sports Chiropractic in January of 2015. Dr. Fiola seeks to bring the same level of care that was so effective in Dallas, to athletes of all skill levels in the Boston area.
When not in the office, Dr. Fiola loves nothing more than spending time his wife Kristin, his son Jackson, and his daughter Raegan. You may be lucky enough to get to know Kristin at the office or over the phone…she is the engine and business brain that keeps Fiola Sports Therapy running. Outside of the office, both Andrew and Kristin spend most of their time on fields or courts across Metrowest coaching soccer, basketball, baseball and football. Their passion for helping patients at the office is second only to their passion for their family.
